Two Suspects Arrested After Walmart Thefts Lead to Chase

SALT LAKE, UTAH – July 13, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A foot chase ensued after two suspects tried to steal items from Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3555 S. 8400 West, today at around 11 a.m.

Sgt. Dan McConkey of the Unified Police Department said they got a call of a theft in progress and as they arrived, the male and female suspect took off running, after they were told to stop by an officer. “There was a foot chase that ensued, we took one of the suspects into custody here and the other one, just up the street. ” He said the male suspect had a firearm in his backpack and the suspects may have been carrying drugs, possibly meth.

Sgt. McConkey said the male suspect has a class A outstanding warrant in Utah.
