SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 24, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Transportation is advising drivers to plan for freeway exit closures on I-80 near the Salt Lake/Tooele County border and on I-215 near the mouth of Parleys Canyon this weekend.

These exit closures will require drivers to follow detour routes and could create minor delays, said a news release from UDOT.

Eastbound I-80 exit to SR-201: In western Salt Lake County, the exit from eastbound I-80 to SR-201 (Exit 102) will close from Friday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. to Monday, Oct. 28, at 5 a.m. During this time, drivers will need to continue on eastbound I-80 and exit at SR-202 (Exit 104). They can then continue east on SR-202 to its intersection with SR-201. Crews will be completing maintenance work on the I-80 ramp bridge over the railroad tracks.

I-215 exit to eastbound I-80: Near Parleys Canyon, the exit from the I-215 east belt to eastbound I-80 (Exit 2) will close for four nights, from Sunday, Oct. 27, through Wednesday, Oct. 30. The exit will close at 9:30 p.m. each night and reopen by 4:30 a.m. Drivers will need to continue on westbound I-80 to 1300 East (Exit 126), where they can turn around and get onto eastbound I-80. Crews will be completing prep work prior to replacing the electronic overhead sign on I-80 at the mouth of the canyon.
