CENTERVILLE, Utah, Oct. 24, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews are on the scene of a water main break in Centerville Thursday afternoon.

“We have a significant water main break at 1650 N. Main St.,” said a tweet from Centerville Police at 5:40 p.m.

“Please avoid the area. We have the Water Department on the way to fix it.”

The tweet said it’s not yet clear how many households may be without water as a result of this break.

“We will give updates as we know more,” the tweet said.

An update just before 7:25 p.m. said: “The water main break is no longer leaking as it has been turned off. Main Street will be closed in both directions for several hours to repair the road and fix the leak. Follow the signs and take alternate routes for the closure until it’s open again.”

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
