BEAVER COUNTY and IRON COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 2, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A driver is in custody after a law enforcement pursuit that began Tuesday morning with an alleged speeder on Beaver’s Main Street and ended on Interstate 15 near Paragonah with a trooper pinning the vehicle in place.
The incident started at about 11:10 a.m., when a Utah Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop the northbound vehicle in Beaver, a UHP news release says.
“The vehicle then entered I-15 northbound at a high rate of speed, leading troopers to initiate a pursuit. The suspect vehicle exited at exit 120 and re-entered the freeway going the wrong way, northbound in the southbound lanes.”
Troopers terminated the pursuit, the release says.
“The vehicle proceeded northbound to the I-70 junction, driving on the northbound shoulder in the southbound lanes at 50-70 mph. The vehicle then exited on I-70, re-entered I-15, and took the Cove Fort exit before proceeding back to I-15 southbound.”

The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and began a pursuit, southbound on I-15, a few miles south of the I-70 junction.
“South of Beaver, around mile marker 107, the suspect vehicle crossed into the northbound travel lanes, drove on the median shoulder, and then returned to the southbound side, continuing southbound for approximately one mile near mile marker 105.
“The vehicle then crossed all lanes of northbound travel and began driving on the far shoulder of the northbound lanes, still heading southbound at about 25-35 mph.”
As the Beaver County Sheriff deputies were attempting to catch up to disable the vehicle, a trooper was able to turn around at mile marker 102 and proceed northbound on I-15.
“The Trooper successfully pinned the vehicle at low speeds while it was off the road on the far shoulder, and the suspect was taken into custody.”
The vehicle was listed as stolen from California, and it had stolen plates that had not yet been reported, the release says.
Gephardt Daily will have more information when the driver’s arrest documents are entered into the online court records system.
