MAGNA, Utah, March 25, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the person killed when she ran into the back of vehicle stopped at a red light one State Route 201 and 202.
A Toyota Rav4 was stopped at the traffic light in a westbound lane. A westbound silver Volkswagen Jetta hit the rear of the stationary black Rav4 at near freeway speeds, a UHP statement says.
The driver of the silver Volkswagen SUV — 75-year-old Cheri Sue Richey — was transported in critical condition and pronounced dead at the hospital. The two children in her vehicle were transported with moderate injuries.
The driver of the black Toyota SUV was transported with minor injuries.
