UHP sergeant hit by vehicle on I-15 in Box Elder County

BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — An officer with the Utah Highway Patrol was struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon on Interstate 15.

UHP Sgt. Brian Nelson was investigating an injury crash at about 2 p.m. near milepost 398.

Nelson was seated in his patrol car when another vehicle came into the area and the driver lost control, a news release from the Utah Department of Public Safety says. The vehicle struck Nelson’s patrol car.

Nelson received minor injuries. He was transported to the hospital to be evaluated and was then sent home, where he is now resting, the news release says.
