TOOELE, Utah, Dec. 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A child who was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital after accidentally being hit by a car driven by his mother in a McDonald’s parking lot in Tooele is in stable condition Monday.

Emergency crews, including a medical helicopter, were called to the scene of the auto-pedestrian accident shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday near 970 N. Main St. in Tooele.

On Sunday night, Tooele City Police officials told Gephardt Daily patrol officers responded to a report of a 6-year-old boy who “was run over” and was seriously injured.

On Monday, Tooele Police spokesman Sgt. Jeremy Hansen said the investigation into the incident is still ongoing but it appears the child got into an argument with his siblings and got out of a car his mother was driving. She then hit him unintentionally.

The boy is in stable condition, Hansen said, and is alert and talking.

The investigation will determine if the boy’s mother will be facing any charges in connection to the incident.

Gephardt Daily will follow up on this developing story as more details are released.
