EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah, Dec. 15, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An Eagle Mountain man has been booked into the Utah County Jail on nearly two dozen counts of crimes against a child.

Justin Scott Nelson, 29, was booked into jail on Tuesday on suspicion of 23 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- to 17-year-old. The counts, broken into categories by the type of contact, all are third-degree felonies.

The girl was taken to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office for a forensic interview, and Nelson was interviewed by the UCSO Special Victims Task Force at his residence.

The probable cause statement says that Nelson was in a position of trust over the girl, and that he admitted to a sexual relationship with the child that went back at least three years, with encounters one or more times each month.

The victim “confirmed a sexual relationship lasting over three years, from the time she was 14 years of age,” the probable cause statement says.

“Based on the juvenile’s disclosures and the adult male admitting to the allegations, one adult male was taken into custody and booked into the Utah County Jail.”

Nelson’s bail was set at $115,000.
