Utah COVID-19 update: 3 more deaths, 327 new cases in past day

UTAH, April 27, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Tuesday reported three more COVID-19 deaths and 327 newly documented cases in the past 24 hours.

That brings known cases to 396,004 and confirmed coronavirus deaths since the beginning of the pandemic to 2,186.

The three who died were:

  • A Salt Lake County man, older than 85, hospitalized
  • A Washington County man, older than 85, a resident of a long-term care facility
  • A Weber County resident between 25 and 44, hospitalized

Vaccines administered number 2,073,225, which is 19,908 more than yesterday.

People tested for COVID-19 number, 2,538,247, an increase of 4,730 since yesterday. Tests administered number 4,596,604, an increase of 13,152 tests since yesterday.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 391 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.2%. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.2%.

There are 137 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 16,102.
