RICH COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 11, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — State wildlife officials are requesting the public’s help in their near two-week investigation of the intentional killing of a baby deer with a vehicle in Rich County.
“On or about Dec. 31, 2025, a vehicle traveling on Big Creek Road, just west of Randolph, veered off the road and struck a mule deer fawn,” the Utah Department of Natural Resources Division of Law Enforcement said online.
“Evidence at the scene, including tire tracks, suggests the deer was intentionally targeted.”
Officers are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver or anyone with information related to the incident. If you have information regarding the incident, the agency asks that you “please call the UTIP Hotline at 800-662-3337. Or you can submit an anonymous tip by texting: 847411.”
