UTAH, Feb. 6, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol troopers have responded to more than 400 crashes since the winter storm began Tuesday, officials said Wednesday afternoon.

“Since the storm started yesterday, troopers have responded to 410 crashes statewide, including this 11 car pile-up on SB I-15 near the Davis and Salt Lake Co. border,” the Utah Highway Patrol tweeted at 2:30 p.m., along with a photo. “This crash shut southbound I-15 down from 10:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m.”

UHP tweeted earlier Wednesday that troopers investigated more than 300 crashes statewide by 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. “Troopers have investigated 313 crashes statewide since the storm hit yesterday,” UHP tweeted. “115 crashes so far today.”

Little Cottonwood Canyon has been closed for most of the day, but is expected to reopen by 4:30 p.m.
