SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — U.S. Vice President Mike Pence will visit Utah Thursday, his office has confirmed.

“The Vice President will visit Merit Medical, a leading manufacturer of disposable medical devices,” said a press release from Pence’s office. “There, the Vice President will tour the facility and deliver remarks to community leaders and employees.”

Pence will then return to Washington, D.C. Thursday night from Salt Lake City.

He is scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City on Wednesday from Roswell, New Mexico, where he will visit Elite Well Services, and deliver remarks on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement as part of an America First Policies series called “USMCA: A Better Deal for American Workers.”

Pence last visited Salt Lake City in October 2016, where he appeared at a rally at the Infinity Event Center just two weeks shy of Election Day.

He also visited Utah in September 2016 in a bid to give the GOP a boost as Democrats appeared to be gaining strength in the traditionally Republican state.

Trump won the election in Utah with 45.5 percent of the vote, the lowest percentage for any Republican since George H. W. Bush in 1992.
