West Jordan Man Tasered In Stand-Off With Police
WEST JORDAN, UTAH – July 3, 2015 – (Gephardt Daily) A West Jordan man was taken into custody Friday night after being tasered by police during a domestic violence call.
According to West Jordan Police spokesman, Ian Adams, officers were called to the home around 7 p.m. with reports a male occupant was becoming angry and abusive and acting suicidal.
Police say when they arrived at the scene the man began to threaten officers, as well as others inside the home. After talking with police negotiators the man came outside to meet with officers, when he once again grew agitated and began making threats. Police say it was then they decide to deploy their tasers and took the man into custody.
Police say the man will be taken to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
