WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, April 9, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A dispute between strangers Sunday afternoon led to a man showing a handgun, making threats and damaging a vehicle before taking off in a truck bearing stolen license plates.
West Valley City Police Lt. Colleen Nolen said the trouble apparently began Sunday afternoon at the Maverik Center, where people were attending the imported car show.
Details are few, but Nolen said it appears that someone accused someone else of stealing car parts, and that set things off.
The victim, whose vehicle was damaged by the suspect, told police the suspect threatened him while showing a handgun. The suspect then drove off in a white Ford F-150.
Nolen said the suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his late 30s. He was wearing a black hat with a red brim and a red letter “B” on it. The plates on the Ford F-150 are Idaho plates that are stolen, and the plate number is 1MB0990.
Anyone who sees the vehicle or knows the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call West Valley City Police at 801-840-4000.
