SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 17, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Salt Lake City are investigating a fatal shooting just west of downtown early Tuesday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the area near 900 West and South Temple at 3:35 a.m. When police they arrived they found a 31-year-old woman who was gravely wounded.
According to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Timothy Strum, first responders performed CPR, but were unable to revive the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are remaining tight-lipped about a possible suspect but said they do not believe there is a threat to the general public.
Investigators believe the victim lived in the area. Her name has yet to be released.
