CHICAGO, Illinois, Nov. 2, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — One man is dead and two other people were injured in a shooting at a Starbucks in an uptown Chicago neighborhood.
The shooting at the Starbucks located at 4753 N. Broadway, took place about 7:10 p.m.
One man died at the scene, while a 12-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the groin and was taken to an area hospital. A second man also suffered a gunshot wound, though his condition was not immediately known.
The shooting is thought to have taken place after a drug deal gone wrong, Chicago police Town Hall District Cmdr. Marc Buslik said. The victim who died and the shooter apparently were involved in a transaction, after which the victim ran into the Starbucks.
The attacker followed the man and opened fire.
The suspect is still at large, Buslik said.
