3 dead, 1 critical in Washington state mall shooting; police search for shooter

BURLINGTON, Wash., Sept. 23, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Washington state have converged on a shopping mall north of Seattle, where four people were shot Friday evening.

Initial reports said four people were killed, but that was later revised to say three have died and one person is in critical condition.

The shooting took place around 8:30 pm at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, 65 miles north of Seattle.

Sgt. Mark Francis, of the Washington State Police, says the search is on for a lone suspect, described only as a Hispanic male dressed in gray last seen walking from the mall to nearby Interstate 5.

Investigators have yet to determine a motive in the case.
