SAN MATEO , Calif., Nov. 9 (UPI) — Sports and action camera giant GoPro announced a recall of its Karma drone late Tuesday after 16 days on the market.
The drone, which sells for $799, can lose power during operation, the company said. There have been no reports of injuries or damages, the company said. Some 2,500 Karma drones purchased by consumers since its Oct. 23 release are under recall.
The company is offering full refunds through GoPro directly or through the stores where they were originally purchased. The company urged customers to return the drones even if they appear to be working correctly.
“We are working in close coordination with both the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Federal Aviation Administration. We are very sorry to have inconvenienced our customers and we are taking every step to make the return and refund process as easy as possible,” GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman said.
Last week, the company announced it missed its earning expectations by 23 percent, causing its stock to plummet.
