SOUTH BEND, Ind., Nov. 2 (UPI) — A University of Notre Dame student says an academic tutor coerced him into having sex with the tutor’s daughter.

In a lawsuit filed in St. Joseph County Circuit Court against the Indiana college, the unidentified student, who is African-American, says the white and female academic tutor, who counseled the school’s students and student-athletes “orchestrated, initiated, directed and coordinated a sexually and racially motivated inappropriate and demeaning relationship” with the plaintiff and pressured him to remain in the relationship.”

A statement from Anderson, Augustino and Keller, the South Bend, Ind., a law firm representing the student, said the tutor has “a history of arranging multiple sexual liaisons between her daughter and other African-American students, including varsity basketball and football players.”

The college said the unnamed tutor was fired for violations of the school’s sexual and discriminatory harassment policy, but called the allegations unfounded.

The lawsuit states the plaintiff began a relationship with the daughter before seeking academic help from the tutor, who encouraged sexual liaisons with her daughter through payment for condoms, hotel rooms and transportation. The coach would later question the plaintiff about the “nature, frequency and quality of the sexual activities” and offer “racially charged comments about his sexual prowess.”

The law firm said the tutor’s daughter is a university employee, enrolled in another college and has not been found to be in violation of any Notre Dame policy.
