SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 31 (UPI) — Another round of severe storms is expected across parts of Texas on Saturday after two people were swept away in flood waters in the central and southeast parts of the state.

A man in his 50s died after he attempted to climb to the roof of his car to escape the flooding in Austin. Another person who was swept away in the flood waters was found dead near Camp Bullis, a U.S. Army training camp in San Antonio. Two others are missing after a deluge of rain brought flash flooding.

The National Weather Service is investigating three locations where possible tornadoes were spotted. A high school was among several buildings damaged in Wilson County, located outside San Antonio. A trailer from an RV park was tossed onto the roof of a three-story hotel.

“We’ve got a lot of damage down here,” Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt said.

Friday, more than 16 inches of rain dropped in one neighborhood. Austin–Bergstrom International Airport suspended flights when six inches of water flooded an air traffic control tower States of disaster were declared in several counties due to the widespread damage.

Austin resident Kerry Packer spoke on live television to KVUE while stuck in a tree after his vehicle was swept away in the floods. He said he attempted to cross a section of street that looked shallow but his vehicle flipped sideways. He was rescued after four hours in the tree.

“I’m fine,” he told the startled anchors. “Thankfully there’s a nice sturdy tree here and it’s a little cold but I did Boy Scouts for 20 years and so I know how to keep my energy up and keep warm.”
