ABC Cancels ‘Revenge’ After 4 Seasons
LOS ANGELES, April 29 (UPI) — ABC has cancelled the drama Revenge after four seasons.
The show will air its series finale on May 10 at 10 p.m. EDT.
“We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story,” executive producer Sunil Nayar told EW. “We’ve been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale — which is fabulous — everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to to end. This is the series finale of Revenge that will be airing in a couple weeks.”
The show follows Emily Thorne aka Amanda Clarke (Emily VanCamp) on her quest for revenge on the Grayson family for destroying her father years prior.
Emily’s mission seemed thwarted in a recent episode when Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) killed herself and framed Emily for it. Emily was then sent to prison.
When speaking of her character’s death and the survival of the show, Stowe told E!, “I think if it goes on it would have to be a reinvention.”
The last episode is titled “Two Graves,” alluding to a Confucian proverb and the protagonist’s potential demise.
