RIVERDALE, Utah, Jan. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man has been booked on DUI charges after troopers say he drove his Maserati the wrong direction on Interstate 15, seriously injuring a woman whose SUV he struck.

Gary Shook, 44, was driving the Maserati at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday when he struck an Isuzu Trooper, sending the female driver and lone occupant to the hospital with a shattered pelvis and severe cuts on her head.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was taken to McKay Dee Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Shook also was transported, and was treated for cuts to his head before being transported to the Weber County Jail for booking.

Shook, who was also alone in his vehicle, ” … had been consuming alcohol before he got behind the wheel,” a Utah Highway Patrol statement said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the UHP statement said.
