WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah, July 2, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the three people killed Wednesday in a two-car accident in Washington County.
The accident happened at about 1:30 p.m. when the male driver of a black Cadillac SUV was headed north on State Route 18, just past the Ledges exit.
For an unknown reason, the man’s vehicle drifted into the southbound lane, and sideswiped a southbound silver Ford Focus. The female driver of the Focus lost control, and hit the roadside cement barrier. She was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
After that initial collision, the SUV continued southbound, and hit a white Nissan Versa head on. That collision killed the SUV driver and the couple in the Nissan.
The SUV drier has been identified as 24-year-old Timothy C. Roberts of Dammeron Valley.
The Nissan driver and passenger killed were Christine E. Ilkenhans, age 72, and Emmanuel C. Ilkenhans, age 78, both of Veyo.
