Police investigate shooting in West Valley City; 38-year-old victim in critical condition

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Feb. 3. 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police investigators are on the scene of an early morning shooting in West Valley City.

WVCPD Lt. Justin Wyckoff told Gephardt Daily police were called to a home at 6349 West Meander Avenue about 1:46 a.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived they found a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The victim was rushed in critical condition to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where he was undergoing emergency surgery as this article was being written.

Investigators have yet to determine how the shooting took place.

At least one person was being questioned at the scene.
