WENDOVER, Utah, Feb. 7, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A tractor trailer disconnect Friday afternoon on Wendover Boulevard ended up blocking two lanes of traffic and spilling about 20 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway.
“Preliminary information indicates that a tractor trailer entered Wendover Boulevard when the trailer became disconnected from the tractor,” says a news release issued by Wendover Fire.
“The refrigerated trailer separated, sliding into both travel lanes. During the incident, the diesel fuel tank supplying the refrigerated trailer’s generator ruptured, resulting in an estimated 20 gallons of diesel fuel spilling onto the roadway.”
The Wendover Fire Department arrived on scene and applied absorbent materials to contain and neutralize the fuel spill, mitigating any further hazard to motorists and the environment, the release says.
“Traffic impacts were managed while crews worked to secure the area. No injuries were reported.”
The Wendover Fire Department “reminds all drivers operating vehicles pulling trailers to carefully check hitch connections and safety equipment before entering the roadway, as proper securement is critical to preventing accidents and ensuring public safety.”
