TUNBRIDGE, England, Aug. 13 ( Ben Hooper ) — A British man visiting his local shopping center captured video of an unusual fellow shopper — a raccoon riding a scooter.
Twitter user Bobby Bewl posted a video to the microblogging site of the raccoon riding the scooter while being led by its owner, who appears to also be filming the pet while leading it with a leash.
“I thought it was really strange. I had never seen a raccoon before, never mind one riding a scooter,” he told the Kent and Sussex Courier. “There was a small crowd gathered around to see it. It wasn’t being forced to get on the scooter or anything, it was doing it of its own accord.”
“It was a bit of a natural on it,” he said.
The animal was later identified as Melanie Raccoon, a dancing and bike-riding raccoon who appeared with her owner on the 2013 season of Britain’s Got Talent.
