CHICAGO, March 9 (UPI) — A giraffe at Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo showed his enthusiastic appreciation for the unseasonably warm weather during his first trip outside of the year.
The zoo said its four giraffes were given access to their outside habitat for the first time in 2016 Monday, and Potoka, a 2-year-old male, was particularly enthused by the warm spring weather.
Video filmed at the zoo Monday shows Potoka running, jumping and frolicking around his noticeably calmer fellow giraffes.
“Looks like we’re not the only ones excited about the warm weather! Potoka pranced and our whole herd of reticulated giraffes enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather,” the zoo said in a Facebook post.
