Carey Mulligan is “Far From the Madding Crowd”

April 30, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – In the new film “Far From the Madding Crowd,” based on Thomas Hardy’s classic novel, Carey Mulligan takes on the role of “Bathsheba Everdene,” who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak, a sheep farmer; Frank Troy, a reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood, a prosperous and mature bachelor.

Mulligan is garnering rave reviews in this new role of an independent and headstrong female living in Victorian England and trying to survive in a male-dominated world.

“That’s what attracted me to the script. After I read the book I felt the story was relevant in today’s world,” Mulligan said about the role.

Carey Mulligan is one of Hollywood’s most sought after talents.  The actress was Oscar nominated for her role in the 2010 film “An Education,” and was seen co-starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 2013’s “The Great Gatsby.”

Gephardt Daily’s Tony Toscano had a chance to sit with Carey Mulligan to discuss her role in the new film.
