SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 10, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews battled a garbage truck fire in Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon.

A tweet from Salt Lake City Fire Department at 3:20 p.m. said: “Fire is under control and traffic is being diverted from the intersection of 1300 East 500 South. Contents of the garbage truck were dumped onto the street.”

It’s not known at this stage if anyone was injured, or what caused the fire.

Utah Transit Authority tweeted: “Due to a garbage truck fire near 1300 East, our Red Line trains will not be proceeding north of Stadium. There will be a bus bridge put in place from Stadium to 900 East.”
