SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 20, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A fast moving fire spread through a home and attached garage Saturday night in Salt Lake City, forcing a family of seven from the residence, according to the Salt Lake City Fire Department.
Fire crews responded to multiple calls reporting a fire near 1100 South Concord St. about 10 p.m. Upon arrival firefighters found a garage fully involved in flames, with heavy fire spreading into the rest of the home, said SLCFD Public Information Officer Capt. Chad Jepperson, who spoke with Gephardt Daily.
Crews launched an aggressive fire attack and were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes, meaning it was no longer spreading, Jepperson said.
At least two vehicles were involved in the fire, and both the garage and home were severely damaged. All residents were able to escape safely, and no injuries were reported.
Seven family members were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
