MILLCREEK, Utah, Dec. 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a pair of suspects following an armed robbery in Millcreek Monday night, the third such robbery in that area in the past week.

Unified Police Department Lt. Brian Lohrke told Gephardt Daily the robbery occurred just after 8:30 p.m. at the Subway restaurant at 4725 S. Highland Drive.

Lohrke said two suspects reportedly entered the restaurant, each with a handgun. They brandished the weapons at the employee and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, they fled on foot southbound on Highland Drive.

Despite setting up a containment and having a K-9 unit carry out a search, the suspects were not found.

Both suspects are described as being approximately 6 feet tall. One was wearing a black jacket with white sleeves and the other a white jacket with a black print. One of them wore a green backpack during the robbery.

Lohrke said this latest robbery is one of three in the area that have occurred in the last week, and the same suspects may be involved.

The same Subway restaurant at 4725 S. Highland Drive was robbed Saturday night at about 9 p.m, when a man wearing a white mask and a blue beanie entered the restaurant and told employees he had a weapon. UPD Lt. Paul Barker said no weapon was seen.

The man’s face was covered, with the beanie pulled down, so only his eyes were showing.

The suspect fled on foot, and officers followed his tracks in the snow as far as they could.

A third robbery took place at Domino’s Pizza, 4756 S. Highland Drive, on Dec. 12. Domino’s is across the street from Subway.

In that incident, police said, a suspect entered the store and threatened the employee, saying he had a gun.

The suspect received a small amount of cash and fled westbound on foot.

The suspect in the Domino’s robbery is described as a light-skinned black man, approximately 200 pounds, wearing yellow gloves and a dark gray beanie.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call the UPD on 801-743-7000, and may remain anonymous.
