A Ring Of One’s Own
Utah’s first all-female boxing show, Glitter Gloves, will take place at the Murray Boys and Girls Club on Saturday, February 21 at 7 p.m. The event, at 244 E. Myrtle Ave., is put on by Factum Boxing and sanctioned by USA Boxing.
The show will include 20-24 bouts for ladies between eight and 39, and is an all-ages show. The heavyweight fight is between Erica Grover and Jen Jackson. “I’m very excited to be part of this first-time event,” said Grover. “My belief is work hard, train hard, fight hard and come out with the win.” “This is a really good thing,” said Jackson. “It’s a good opportunity for us to start changing people’s perception of women athletes.”
Factum Boxing is dedicated to proving that the women of Utah boxing have as much quality as their male counterparts.
Tickets are $5 for children under the age of eight and $12 for adults.
