Update: Salt Lake City police locate victim in aggravated kidnapping, suspect still at large

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 24, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Police Department has located the victim of an aggravated kidnapping that was reported Wednesday morning; the suspect is still at large.

According to a statement from the SLCPD on Twitter Wednesday evening, officials have located victim Samantha June Medina. She is in the hospital in good condition. Victor Gabino-Perez, the suspect, is still outstanding and should be considered armed and dangerous.

An earlier statement said at 8:33 a.m., police were called to the area of 775 S. Post St. after shots were fired. One or more witnesses reported seeing a woman being forced into a car by an armed man. The suspect and victim were seen leaving in a gray or white 1995 Pontiac Grand Am, plate E585NB.

Gambino-Perez, 32, is described as 5-feet-5-inches tall, 145 pounds, with a shaved head and brown eyes. He has neck tattoos and sleeve tattoos on both arms.

Do not attempt to detain him, advised the SLCPD. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gambino-Perez is asked to dial 911.
