SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, April 7, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect is in custody after leading police on a chase through Summit and Salt Lake Counties early Friday morning.

Initial reports indicate the chase started near Kimball Junction at approximately 6:30 a.m. It ended when police used spike strips to blow out the suspect’s tires, then performed a PIT maneuver on I-215 east at 3300 South off-ramp. That stopped the truck, which had been reported stolen.

The suspect, who has been identified as Jeffrey Allen Reedy, is being booked into Summit County Jail. Authorities said Reedy was wanted on outstanding warrants.

Nobody was injured in the incident though the officer’s car did sustain some front-end damage.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story.
