AMERICAN FORK, Utah, March 12, 2015 (Gephardt Daily)- Utah Transit Authority announced delays after a woman was hit by a FrontRunner train this afternoon. Sources say the train was slowing down between 20 and 30 mph when she was hit.

It happened around 1:20 p.m. UTA spokesman Remi Barron said a 23-year-old woman was struck by the FrontRunner train as it approached American Fork station. She stepped out in front of it and may have been distracted by her phone. She was taken to UVU hospital and was conscious. The extent of her injuries is not known at this time.

The track was closed down for a period of time, but that stretch of track is double so the other track was used. Both tracks were re-opened and the train itself was released around 3 p.m.
