LDS missionary killed, 3 others injured in South Africa crash

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Dec. 24, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — An LDS missionary from New Zealand has been killed while serving in South Africa.

According to a statement released to the media by Eric Hawkins, spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, Elder Nofo-I-Lelenga Latu, 19, died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Friday, Dec. 23.

Three other missionaries were with Latu at the time of the crash and are being treated for minor injuries.

“We pray for the family and loved ones of Elder Latu,” Hawkins said. “May they be comforted and sustained in their time of mourning and loss.”

The missionaries belong to the South Africa Johannesburg Mission.

Elder Latu came to South Africa from the Auckland New Zealand Tamaki Stake, Clover Park Ward.

  1. That’s God talking. The LDS need to keep its destructive religion to themselves. Leave those innocent Africans alone. The only goal is to enslave Africans before they know true freedom outside of the created racist bubble.
