Crazy Cop Dash Cam Video

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) – Marana Police Department has released a police car dash cam video. This video is in connection with a man who went on a crime spree in February. February 19, a man was arrested and authorities say he went on a crime spree which began on the south side and ended in Marana.

Police arrested Mario Miranda Valencia, 36, after he stole a rifle from Walmart. He faces felony charges including discharging a firearm in city limits, aggravated assault of a police officer with a deadly weapon and shoplifting involving a firearm.
“Our officers immediately started telling him to drop the gun, put it down. He subsequently put it to his head and refused to put it down,” said Warren to KGUN9. The suspect then ran off into a nearby business park and fired off one gunshot. The bullet injured no one.
A Marana police officer then used his patrol car to hit the suspect, injuring him and allowing officer to take him into custody. The suspect has been released from the hospital and was booked into Pima County Jail.
Tucson police spokesmen say the same suspect started the day by committing several crimes before being arrested in Marana which include:
- Stealing items from a 7-Eleven at 4295 E. 29th Street.
- An arson of Tucson Baptist Temple, 1525 S. Columbus Blvd.
- Invading and stealing a car from a home in the 3900 block of E. Paseo Dorado.
- Firing his rifle at W. Coca Cola Pl. (Between N. Casa Grande Hwy and N. Business Park Dr.)
