CANNES, France, June 25 (UPI) — A Google executive employee died Monday at the Cannes Lions advertising festival in France.

Although Google has not released the employee’s name out of respect for his relatives, he is believed to be a member of the company’s United Kingdom marketing team.

The male executive was hit by a taxi.

Google has not released any further details about the accident, which marks the second loss for the California-based company in recent months. Executive Dan Fredinburg lost his life while climbing Mt. Everest during the Nepal earthquake in April. Fredinburg was the privacy director for the company’s Google X team, which spearheads projects such as Google’s driverless cars and the Google Glass apparatus.
