FRUIT HEIGHTS, UTAH – June 29, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) Three men were injured, one critically when they rolled their mustang on SR-89 Saturday night.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Daniel Wayne Clark, 54, of Kaysville, was driving a red Ford Cobra Mustang and was traveling on the on-ramp from Main Street in Fruit Heights to southbound on SR-89.

Clark was traveling at a high rate of speed and continued to accelerate down the on-ramp causing him to lose control of the Mustang.

The Mustang travelled onto the right shoulder, narrowly missing the concrete barrier and as Clark over-corrected back to the left the Mustang slid across the travel lane, off the left shoulder, and then rolled.

Vaughn Stoker, 75, of Declo, ID., who was sitting in the back behind the front passenger seat, was ejected. He was taken to McKay Dee hospital by Life Flight in extremely critical condition. It does not appear he was wearing a seat belt.

Curtis Stoker, 61, also of Declo, ID, was the front passenger and both him and Clark  were taken by ambulance to local hospitals with moderate injuries. They were both wearing seat belts.

Troopers are investigating excessive speeds and potentially reckless driving as contributors to the crash.
