SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – August 21, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — The executive director of the Utah Republican Party is leaving to lead Orange County, California’s GOP party.
The Utah Republican Party announced last night it will be hiring a new executive director, as Julian Babbitt has accepted an offer for a new position in California.
“Having helped steer the party through two conventions, a successful 2014 general election cycle, and valuable technological and data improvements, I felt this was the best time to transition and move my wife and I back to California, something we had planned to do for some time,” said Babbitt. “I love the great state of Utah and am honored to have played a role in our party’s success over the last election cycle.”
Babbitt has been hired as the executive director of the Orange County Republican Party, where he will oversee the party’s operations and work to elect Republicans at the county level.
Chairman James Evans said, “We will truly miss Julian, but this is a natural time for executive directors to transition into new opportunities, right in between the party organizing convention and the start of the new election cycle. I wish the best for Julian and his family as they return to their California roots and am confident that we are well positioned for success as a result of his efforts and dedication to the Party.”
The Party is looking for a new executive director effective immediately.
