BRIGHAM CITY, UTAH – November 17, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) ─ Three Box Elder High School students are being questioned after another student became violently ill after eating what police say is candy laced with drugs and alcohol.

According to Brigham City Assistant Chief of Police Dennis Vincent, the teen became very sick after he ate gummy worms given to him by other students.

“From what we know, the gummy worms were first soaked in alcohol then sprinkled with some sort of drug,” Vincent said. “He became so sick, his parents rushed him to the hospital in Brigham City.”

Vincent said police have been interviewing the three students believed to be involved and want to talk to anyone with knowledge of the incident.

“This is very serious, and we want to make sure that others are safe,” Vincent said. “We want parents to talk to their kids about the dangers of eating things from people they do not know.”

Vincent asks anyone with information pertaining to this incident contact Brigham City Police at 435-734-6650.
