LOS ANGELES, April 19 (UPI) — Daisy Ridley and J.J. Abrams are teaming up once again for Paramount’s upcoming romantic thriller, “Kolma.”
Ridley, who burst onto the Hollywood scene as Rey in the Abrams directed “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” is in talks to star in Kozlma with “The Diary of a Teenage Girl” director Marielle Heller, as first reported by The Wrap.
Abrams is set to produce the project under his Bad Robot film label alongside Ram Bergman, David Lonner and Sherryl Clark with a script by Megan Holley (“Sunshine Cleaning”).
Kolma, based on a 2003 Israeli television movie entitled “All I’ve Got” (“Kol Ma She’Yesh Li”), follows the story of a young couple who gets into a fatal car accident that leaves the man dead. Years later when the girlfriend has died of old age, she is given a choice between revisiting the day of the accident or reuniting with her lost love in the afterlife.
The film would represent Ridley’s next starring role outside of “Star Wars.” The actress is currently filming “Star Wars: Episode VIII” with director Rian Johnson and has also been in talks to potentially star as iconic video game adventurer Lara Craft in a “Tomb Raider” reboot.
