SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 17, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have released a suspect description after a juvenile was shot in the abdomen Sunday afternoon outside a Salt Lake City 7-Eleven.
The victim was transported by ground ambulance after the shooting, which happened at approximately 4:35 p.m. at the 7-Eleven near 1300 Emery St. He is in stable condition.
Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release Monday morning witnesses heard a gunshot and saw a male juvenile limping away from a suspect who was holding a handgun. The victim ran home and called for medical help. The suspect ran to a vehicle in the 7-Eleven parking lot.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20s, 5-feet-3 inches tall, 140 pounds, wearing black pants and a blue L.A. Dodgers jersey. The suspect vehicle is described as a white, older model four-door Hyundai.
The investigation is ongoing.
