March 18 (UPI) — Britain’s Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, met with survivors of terror attacks at a hospital in France on Saturday.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge commended survivors of attacks in Bataclan and Nice for their bravery, as they visited Les Invalides military hospital in Paris during their two-day trip to France.
They met with the survivors and heard how the attacks impacted their lives.
“We think you are very strong and very brave, you’ve made amazing progress,” Prince William said, according to the BBC.
The couple also met with war veterans at the hospital as news arrived of the attack at Orly Airport.
During their trip the royal couple also attended a children’s rugby game as part of a “Les Voisins [neighbors] in Action”event to promote ties between young people in France and the United Kingdom.
When the couple arrived in France Prince William said that relations between the two countries “would not change” despite Britain’s decision to leave the European Union.
