SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, May 4 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A TRAX train struck a wheelchair-bound man Friday in South Salt Lake.

Injuries were apparently minor as the man was trying to get to a platform to board a train at the Meadowbrook Station, Utah Transit Authority spokesman Carl Arky said.

The wheelchair was apparently too close to the rails and it was struck when a northbound Blue Line train came into the station, he said. No immediate condition update was available, Arky said, but the man was reportedly conscious and moving.

Blue Line and Red Line service was able to resume fairly quickly, he said, after the incident at 3900 S. 200 W.
