MIDVALE, Utah, Sept. 13, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have released surveillance photos of a suspect who robbed a Midvale credit union Tuesday morning while brandishing a black handgun and wearing a Halloween mask.
The Unified Police Department tweeted Wednesday the suspect was wearing a full head mask. He is being described as a 6-foot-tall male with a medium build and belly fat. He was wearing a light-colored shirt with blue or green stripes.
Detective Ken Hansen from the UPD said the incident happened at approximately 9:20 a.m. at the Utah First Credit Union at 6935 S. 900 East.
Hansen said the suspect did not produce a note, but demanded money verbally. He then fled northbound in a silver Honda that has a dent in the right front.
He said police do have a license plate, but they suspect the Honda was stolen. The license is Utah plate number Y934V.
“There’s a great deal of concern, because this is a very aggressive bank robbery,” Hansen said. “This is one of the those bank robberies where we really need to focus and get him off the street as soon as possible.”
He added that police are in the process of reviewing external and internal video from the scene.
