OGDEN, Utah, April 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden’s Justice Court and 2nd District Court were closed Thursday morning after 911 dispatchers received reports of a bomb threat.

Just before noon, Ogden Police Department tweeted the buildings were clear and they were no longer dealing with an active incident.

The courthouses were evacuated just after 9 a.m. after a threat was called in to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, Geoffrey Fattah, the Utah State Court public information officer tweeted.

A security sweep of the building was begun, with a bomb-sniffing dog checking the buildings following a physical search by the bomb squad.

Courtroom operations are expected to be restored now the all-clear has been given.

“Detectives and Crime Center tracking leads on caller,” a tweet from the OPD added. “Thanks for the allied agency assists.”

Some minor road closures were in place on Grant Avenue as police investigated, and the 25th and 26th streets were also closed. Those roads have since reopened.
