MORGAN COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 23, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — An alarm and a call to Mountain Green Fire Friday saved a mother and daughter from the effects of a carbon monoxide leak.
“A carbon monoxide alarm helped save lives yesterday,” a Mountain Green news release says. “A resident and her daughter were alerted by their alarm, the mom called 911 and Mountain Green Fire Engine 131 and Chief 131 responded.
“We checked the home with our very sensitive meter called a Sensit and found a low level of carbon monoxide. Further investigation narrowed down the source to a malfunctioning stove.”
Never ignore an alarm, the agency advised.
“It isn’t always a hazard, but sometimes it is. Carbon monoxide is a silent odorless tasteless killer. Make sure you frequently replace batteries and replace the detector entirely every 5 to 10 years.”
