BEAVER, Utah, July 4, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Eagle Point Resort, in Beaver, has suffered serious losses in the Cottonwood Fire.

Of its 600 acres, about 300 were impacted by the flames. Canyonside ski lodge, one of two day lodges, along with more than 100 condos and 30 cabins were lost in the fire. Four out of five chairlifts were damaged, and Tushar Ridge warming station, three vehicles, and give snowmobiles were lost, among other things.

But the resort has talked about plans to rebuild and is staying positive about its future.

“Utah, as our nation marks its 250th year, we pause to reflect on what truly makes America strong,” Eagle Point Resort said on its Facebook page.

“Today, while many gather to celebrate, we are humbled by the situation unfolding on our mountain. Against a backdrop shaped by fire, this flag stands as a reminder of resilience, unity, and hope – and of the brave firefighters working tirelessly to protect what we all hold dear.

“This Fourth of July, we celebrate not only our country’s history, but the heroes among us.

“Thank you to every first responder serving our community.”
