SOUTH OGDEN, Utah, Aug. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — South Ogden police have arrested a local man after the fatal stabbing of one of his two female roommates.

Jesus Martinez Ramos, 44, was booked in Weber County Jail on Tuesday, and will be charged with criminal homicide, a first-degree felony, and obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony.

On Monday, South Ogden officers were dispatched to 3700 S. Washington Blvd. “on a report of a female body lying on the ground with flies on her,” a probable cause statement says. “Upon further investigation it was determined that the injuries to the body were obvious stab wounds.”

The deceased woman was identified by an SOPD officer “who had dealt with the deceased on prior cases,” the statement says. She was known to reside in an apartment at 3725 S. Washington Blvd., and lived with Ramos and a second female.

The remaining female roommate and Ramos were transported to the South Ogden Police Department and taken to interview rooms. Both waived their Miranda rights, the statement says.

“Jesus admitted to stabbing the deceased female victim several times, and later carrying her body to where it was later discovered. Jesus also admitted to cleaning up the crime scene and discarding all possible evidence in a dumpster in close proximity to the house. Jesus also admitted to having injuries to himself as a result of him stabbing the victim,” the statement says.

“The other female admitted to being at the residence when the victim was stabbed, the female also admitted to watching Jesus stab victim with a knife. The female also stated that Jesus had threatened to stab her if she told on him.”

The murder weapon was discovered later in a dumpster closed to the murder scene, “where Jesus admitted he discarded it,” the statement says.

The suspect has made threats of harm against a witness who admitted to observing the suspect stab the victim, the probable cause statement says, adding “the witnesses said she is now scared for her life.”
